When it comes to skincare, you could say that I’m pretty obsessed. It’s important to start while young. Understanding what your skin needs is a must as well. For instance, I have combination skin (a mixture of oily and dry areas), but it gets on the drier side during winter time.
Lately I’ve been making an effort to convert to more natural brands as well as experimenting with the latest beauty trend, Korean skincare. For this post, I wanted to break down my winter skincare routine and share some of my current favorite products.
The Basics:
Aesop Toner – This is toner that caters to more sensitive skin. My first time using Aesop products, I’m a fan, although I’m also a big fan of this toner.
Vitamin C serum – Vitamin C is a must for my daily routine. I like to use it before applying any serums or moisturizers on my face and neck. Not only it has so many anti-aging benefits, it’s very helpful to use it along with SPF.
Avéne moisturizer – My go to day time moisturizer. It’s light, absorbs really fast and hydrating. Bonus points for smelling amazing.
Shisedo UV protector* – Can’t stress enough how important SPF is for your daily skincare routine. Sun protection is the #1 anti aging product. Whether you’re a guy or a girl, highly recommend applying this on a daily basis in the morning – even when it’s raining!
Coconut oil* – I love the fact that you can use this coconut oil for make up remover as well as moisturizer. It’s natural, smells amazing and truly moisturizing. Warning, you may end up looking somewhat greasy. 🙂
Masks & others:
SK-II Treatment Essence – Got it during my trip to Hong Kong, this is one of my favorite products. I tend to use this as a first step before applying serums at night. It has a non-oily hydrating feel, and gives a nice glow. Supposed to help with skin renewal and acne problems.
Dr. Jart+ Sheet Mask – Pamper your face with these amazing cotton sheet masks once a week before going to bed for extra hydration. Apply before moisturizing.
Tatcha exfoliant* – It’s a light foamy cleanser helps exfoliate skin. I tend to use it couple times a week on top my regular cleanser. Sensitive skin option here.
Sleeping mask* – I apply an overnight sleeping mask on those extra dry skin days. Use it 1-2 times a week.
Thank you for reading as always!

Oh wow, I didn’t know you can use coconut oil as a makeup remover as well. I have an unused jar just sitting in my pantry, when it could have been helping me every day! XD I’ll have to try using Vitamin C serum as well – seems like an important serum to use.

I’ve been doing hydrating sleeping masks religiously this winter. It makes such a difference! I also love using vitamin C serum/booster. Lately, I’ve been doing the powder form where I take a little bit on the spoon and mix with my moisturizer.
