In the middle of winter and snow, I’m dreaming of California more than ever.
Los Angeles, a dystopian city gone right. The beaches surrounded by traffic, and blessed In-N-Outs. Even their cultural memes (a gauntlet from BoJack to Californication) are qualities you can vibe to.
I think we’d like to retire there some time. Just, paying our beach tax of losing track of time, playing loose in a California lifestyle, hey I may even pick up surfing too. You can even retrace the steps of Hunter S. Thompson’s Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (current read) if your heart so desires. Vegas is only a few hours away.
As I follow the SoCal fires (and the NorCal ones as well), it makes one wonder if we will eventually have to surrender California back to nature. But in the meantime, we’re soaking up as much time as we can.
