Happy new year!

January has become the month to focus, and work on some very exciting projects – can’t wait to share more details soon, stay tuned. But I want to talk about something more important today, three new year goals that I came up with for this year.

Without further ado, here they are:

  1. Get more organized. Make lists and stick to them. Or try your very best! For instance, if you have 10 items in your to-do list, prioritize. If you get the top 3 key items, you’re doing great. And keep a journal next to your bed, this will help you get your thoughts down before you sleep or even in the middle of the night.
  2. Be more positive. Because the world is so negative as is and it’s up to you to change that cycle. The only way to dream is to keep the negativity out and be more thankful about what you have. Yes, there’s always someone who will be doing better, and something going wrong, but this is your life. Focus on yourself and your dreams.
  3. LOVE more, fewer people. One of the most important things I’ve learned from 2015 is to find a good friend circle. Stick with friends who are supportive and really value your time. Most importantly, show them how much they mean to you. We get caught up in the daily struggles, but don’t forget about the loved ones around you.

And that’s it! I love keeping my lists simple, so they’re easier to get done. I hope this list inspires you to come up with your own goals. Writing them down and reflecting at the end of the year is always a fun exercise.

Lastly, I put together this casual weekend look for a brunch date with Abel this past weekend. I was so excited to score these high waisted Alexander Wang denim shorts, I can think of infinite ways to style them for winter & summer! I paired them with a McQ tee and oversized cardi, as it’s been really cold in SF lately. Finished it off with my staple Wolford tights and Acne Studios booties, which are one of my favorite purchases this season. And there we are, a casual edgy brunch look – can’t get enough of them!

As always, thank you for reading, I’m so grateful for your love and support!

xx Melis

  1. Taking heed of your resolution goals Melis! They are great, especially with the 3rd one to keep a close-knit circle of friends that truly value you. True friendships are hard to find, but so worth keeping when we come across one!! Love these denims shorts on you girl! 🙂 xo~ Lena

  2. Love your list babe and agree that less is more and prioritizing things is what matters. I especially love this photo of you sitting on the bench! So pretty and the relaxed vibe is perfect.

  3. These are all great resolutions. I totally agree with your love more, fewer people resolution. I learned the hard way that having a close knit friends circle who fill your life with positivity is the only way to go! And as always, you look fabulous. Can’t wait to see your stylish adventures this year!

  4. You are so right, about surrounding yourself with people who truly love you and who truly want you to succeed. Loving less means loving in quality, I find, and that can only be a positive thing. Here’s to all our goals for 2016, may we achieve as many as possible!!

p/s I love the play on textures you have going on here. The softness of the cardigan against the denim of those shorts and then the sleek cut of that leather jacket. Epic.
