Happy weekend!
To me, documentaries are a great source of inspiration.
Last night, we had the chance to watch Dior & I, one of the best fashion documentaries I’ve seen to date. The film is about Raf Simons’ first show as the creative director at Christian Dior. What makes the movie so cool is that, you get to experience the creation of a collection, the immense pressure a designer goes through during this process to honor the brand’s past as well as how the entire team works together. Fashion at the end of the day is all about collaboration.
Simons is a very shy/private personality, it must have taken lots of convincing by the director Tcheng – kudos to him! Another cool dimension Tcheng adds to the movie is to document how Simons interacts with the seamstresses, the people who makes the clothes, and they happen to have very colorful personalities. Serious A-Team we’re talking about here.
The end is filled with suspense and emotions. I’m gonna try to not add to many spoilers here, and recommend watching for anyone who’s interested in fashion. 🙂
Thank you for reading!
