Happy Monday from Hong Kong!

As we are nearing the end of our trip, I wanted to put together the first part of Hong Kong travel journal. This is my first trip to this part of Asia, and I’m quite smitten by everything here. If I could convince Abel, we’d be living here by now. 🙂

The architecture in Hong Kong is one of the first things that really stood out to us. The mix of old and new creates a stark contrast. Since it’s quite an international city, almost everyone speaks English here which is makes it easy to get around. I was once told that Hong Kong is a good place to start when it’s your first time in Asia “to ease yourself in” to the culture shock. The beautiful skylines, buddhist monasteries filled with zen, trendy shopping malls — there’s something to do for everyone. Not to mention the diverse ramen scene.

Highlights from this post: all things matcha at Sinmei Tea, Ten Thousands Buddhas Monastery, spa day at the Intercontinental I-Spa.

Thank you for reading!

xx Melis

  1. Oh I am so naughty! I went to Hong Kong in October and still haven’t done my diary and I’ve finished editing my video diary!

How was the Intercontinental girl? I only made it to the Peninsula this time round but plan on hitting up the Intercontinental next time I’m there!

    Sending you kisses from Sydney!

I’ve recently been sent by Sony to the iconic Whitsundays to review their Xperia Z5 mobile camera – would love if you checked out the post and let me know your thoughts!!

  2. I would love to go to Hong Kong at some point. I heard really awesome things about that place. I just want to try the food there. I could not never spot watching travel shows that features different food in different places.

  3. Hi, Melis! I would really love to visit Hong Kong one day. I’ve never been to Asia before, and like you said, it seems like a nice place to start exploring that part of the world. Your photos are just breathtaking, and one of my favourites is the one with matcha latte and brownie:) It looks so delicious! Thank you so much for sharing.
