simple casual chic >> story behind Waffles & Honey

Happy Friyay! *happy dance*

This was a really fun outfit to put together. I’ve been gushing over some Aussie brands for awhile now, and was so ecstatic to receive this skirt from The Fifth label. I styled this chic skirt with the Le Tote stripes top to create a more casual look. Because one can never have too many stripes shirts. Truth.

Shirt (c/o): Le Tote // Skirt: The Fifth  // Bracelet (c/o): Waffles & Honey (take 20% off with code: fashionmews20) // Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell // Clutch: Zara // Lipstick: Chanel Rouge Coco Shine Liberté

Waffles & Honey –
My favorite part of this outfit was this mini shark tooth bracelet. Made of 18 karat gold vermeil, it’s so minimal, elegant and edgy all at the same time. It was the perfect finish to this look.

If you haven’t noticed, I’m pretty picky with jewelry. I have to believe in the design. The story behind the brand is also important.

When I met Karina who started Waffles & Honey recently featured on Vogue, I was super impressed. Her clear point of view in her designs resonated with me. Plus, she named her company after her pets, turning them into household names.

Karina is a truly inspirational young designer designer/entrepreneur, she started her jewelry line while still in college. Oh and she’s based in the bay area! I love the fact that her designs have diversity that could cater to all types of women.

Thanks for reading loves! Wishing everyone an amazing weekend.
