startup chic in san francisco

I should be creating a blog post about winter trends, but isn’t startup gear a trend on its own?

Hoodie: Caviar // Scarf: Gap // Shirt: Topshop // Skort: Aritzia // Bag: Alexander Wang // Tights: Hue // Shoes: Ash // Ring: Carmel, CA (Ottoman inspired)

Startups are like cults. As a matter of fact, the cult-like culture is a must for a good startup, as Peter Thiel mentions in his latest book Zero to One. Building your team with people who like spending time with each other in a startup is extremely crucial. This is what makes startups different than finance or consulting (read more here). The most cult-like startup I got to know very closely is Caviar, a food delivery company. From the very early days, you could tell, all the employees were living in the Caviar world, and pulled insane hours. To this day, I admire how close early employees are to each other and I know the company wouldn’t have succeeded without their dedication.

Since startups are such a big part of my life and bay area in general, it’s always fun to add my favorite startup swags into my daily style. This week, SF’s surprise warm weather was the perfect opportunity to wear my favorite hoodie. If you haven’t checked out Caviar yet, they offer their first delivery free.

Please let me know what you think of the startup series post; if there’s enough interest, I will continue featuring new startups I like and style their swag. 🙂

Thanks for reading, hope everyone’s staying warm!
